With a distinctive flavour profile that is slightly bitter, nutty and mildly piquant, black seeds are ideal for anyone looking to enhance recipes with a unique aroma. Astron has extensive experience supplying plant-based products with a focus on purity and authenticity, making this product a reliable choice for anyone seeking a natural, flavourful spice without compromise.

Active ingredients & science

Black seeds contain natural oils and aromatic compounds that give them their characteristic flavour and aroma. These substances occur naturally in the seeds and are available in their original form without any additional processing, meaning the product remains unchanged from the natural raw ingredient.

Benefits & uses

• Bread and baked goods: Black seeds are traditionally used on naan, pita and other Middle Eastern breads. Sprinkling the seeds over the dough before baking adds both flavour and a decorative touch.
• Salads and vegetable dishes: A small amount of black seeds can be added to create texture and an extra dimension of flavour in salads and roasted vegetables.
• Vegetarian and vegan dishes: Black seeds work well in lentil soups, stews and other plant-based recipes, where they add complexity to the flavour.
• Spice blends: The seeds can be ground and combined with other spices to create your own blends with Middle Eastern flavours.
• Everyday cooking: Ideal as a natural flavouring in everyday dishes for anyone looking to add variety to their diet with new flavours.

Use & dosage

The amount of Astron Black Cumin 250 g to use varies depending on the application and personal taste.
