1. The test can be started at least 15 minutes after the last alcohol intake. Also, refrain from smoking cigarettes before the test. 2. Press the plastic covers on both sides of the breathalyser to puncture the protective foil until resistance is felt. 3. Take a deep breath and blow air into the mouthpiece, following the direction of the arrows on the breathalyser. The air should be blown out twice over about 10 seconds, and during a cycle, the blowing must not be interrupted. Ensure that the air is blown out from the other side of the breathalyser. Otherwise, repeat the procedure in step 2. 4. After 2 minutes, but no later than 5 minutes, the test result should be read. 5. If the crystals in the central part of the tube, which were white before the test, change colour, it indicates that the person being tested is affected by alcohol and must not operate a motor vehicle under any circumstances. The approximate blood alcohol content in promille can be read by comparing the result with the coloured standards on both the breathalyser and the packaging.
